CAIR for BLM

CAIR-Ohio, the Council on American-Islamic Relations, is a civil rights advocacy organization made up primarily of American Muslims. In recognition of the diverse racial tapestry that represent the people of their faith, CAIR invited their community members who also identify as African American to speak to the community on their experiences with bigotry as a result of their identities. 6/14/2020

Solidarity with Minneapolis

Columbus, OH residents gather by the hundreds on the Columbus east side. Organized by multiple local activism groups, including People's Justice Project. Despite the ultimate heavy police presence, the protestors were able to peacefully march down the busy Livingston Ave, voicing their grief over the murder of George Floyd, broadcast live, at the hands of a now former Minneapolis police officer.

The Columbus Freedom Coalition hosted the People’s State of the City in response to Columbus mayor Gunther stepping up plain clothed and uniformed officer presence in predominantly minority neighborhoods across the city. One Year Later; The Murder of Donna Dalton

Friends, family, and community members of #DonnaDalton gathered at the site of her murder one year later. Donna was a young woman killed by columbus police Vice squad (now disbanded) member #AndrewMitchell who has since been indicted for her murder. In August 2019 the family of Donna filed a civil suit against Andrew Mitchell, former Chief Kim Jacobs, the City of Columbus, and 12 unnamed police officer defendants.
